Welcome to the Bias in History project website!

Bias in History is an interdisciplinary project at the University of Antwerp which studies historical bias in three historical source corpora: magic lantern slides, police reports and illustrated children’s literature. It studies bias related to gender, age, race and social class between 1800 and 1940, using state-of-the-art digital humanities methods. Feel free to follow us on our journey!
